New York

2002

The installation was created for the exhibition
“Looking In” located in downtown
Manhattan, one block north of the former
World Trade Center. A high-pressure water
cleaner is shooting green colored water
against the window. The beam reappears
every 60 seconds and remains on for 30
seconds creating a random pattern on the
windows surface. The visual pattern changes
continuously. For a short moment, the
flat green water basin can be seen in the
empty black room beyond. Through a drain
in the middle of the floor, the water disappears
and is recycled. At night, the installation
is illuminated from above.
